Cooking with Seasoned Salmon Steaks: Tips and Tricks
In this part of America, winter and rainy season come hand in hand like lovers. And during these two periods the staple food of Veto Bengalis (I mean, me) is Khichuri. What happens if you eat khichuri and don’t have fried fish with it? I would have been happy if it was hilsa. But that is not to be. A small fish (or sardine) would be fine if fried, but other members of the household would run away. Definitely the salmon steak. No, not the salmon fillet, but the salmon fillet is just boiled for five minutes after throwing it raw in cauliflower, potato and pepper broth. But salmon fillet with khichuri is a complete flop. So in ten minutes we made a delicious and easy recipe, Seasoned Salmon Steak!
Materials
All you need to make Seasoned Salmon Steaks is –
- Salmon cut crosswise (perpendicular to the spine) one inch thick –
- Four garlic cloves –
- Crushed two spoons. Pepper- one spoon,
- juice of a lemon.
- Salt – to taste. Butter – two spoons.
- Honey – two spoons.
- Red Chilli Flakes – 1 tsp.
- Chives (chives) – two spoons
- Red chillies – two.
The Method
To make Seasoned Salmon Steaks, first rub the back and sides of the salmon steaks with salt and pepper. Make a sauce by mixing lemon juice, garlic, salt, honey, lime flakes, chives well in a small bowl. Heat butter in a pan and add red chillies. When the smell of chillies comes out, slowly arrange the fish on the butter. After a minute, flip the fish pieces and let them fry for another minute. Now spoon the sauce along the sides of the fish pieces.
When all the sauce is done, turn the fish pieces over. And spoon the sauce over the fish. Both sides of the fish pieces should be well sauced. Cover and cook on low flame for a couple of minutes. Turn off the flame when the fish turns red. If the salmon is fried for too long, it will fall apart. So do all the cooking in very low heat and in less time.
